Here at First United Methodist, we believe that teaching kids to love and be loved is important. We think that the Bible should never be boring and we can have loads of fun while learning! We want kids to see how God’s Word fits into their everyday lives, learn to talk with Him, and build encouraging friendships that will last. This year, we plan on doing just that through our Sunday School, Wednesday ministries, and special events and programs.

SUNDAY SCHOOL 9:50 AM -10:50 AM
(2yrs - 4yrs) Children love to explore! In our preschool classes, we teach about who God is, how much He loves your child(ren), and about the wonderful things He has made using Cokesbury’s Grow curriculum. Children will hear a Bible story and learn to apply and live out the message in concrete and age-appropriate ways. Classes are held in the Children’s Building, Building 1.
(Kindergarten-5th Grade) Through the teaching of Orange’s 252 BASICS curriculum and resources, your child(ren) will be invited to discover vibrant truths of Jesus, be exposed to what having a relationship with God is all about, and be taught how to live out faith in the God who created them. Children should be dropped off and picked up in their age-divided, small group classrooms in the Children’s Building, Building 1.
Junior Church (4yrs - 2nd Grade) is held during the 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM services. Children are dismissed by announcement from the service and led to the Sapp Worship Center, Building 2, for a snack and a fun, energetic time of worship and learning. They will be taught about people of the Bible and how the God of the Bible wants to be involved in their lives today just as He was in theirs long ago.
the GAP Afterschool Program (1st – 5th Grade) meets September – May from 3:30 PM - 5:30 PM.
Children are transported from school to the church, fed a snack, work on homework, participate in group
activities, and learn about worship in song through choir practice. Children must be registered to participate in this program, a $100 fee is charged for the school year to cover transportation and snack expenses.
12:2 Crew (Kindergarten – 5th Grade) With the name based on Romans 12:1-2, children meet together in the Sapp Worship Center, Building 2, from 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM following Wednesday Night Supper. Through multimedia, games, teaching, and prayer, children come to know who God is, what His Word says, and how to use their Bibles.
Angel Choir (3, 4, & 5 year olds) Wednesday nights in the Children's Building, Building 1, Room 110, 6:30 - 7:30 PM. For questions or more details, please contact Betsy Paschal (869-2660) or Allison Vandenbergh (894-1789).
