Why Give?

God so loved the world that He gave…..

Everything we have is from God and belongs to God. When giving, we are just returning to God a portion of what He has so graciously given to us. Tithing is the Biblical foundation and cornerstone of stewardship. The word “tithe” is derived from the word “tenth” and as Methodists we believe that this is a minimum goal.

Ways To Give

Generously, cheerfully, sacrificially, spontaneously, regularly, and thankfully give of your gifts, time, and talents.

1. Give with Cash

Give with cash on Sunday mornings during the offering or enclose in an offering envelope. Please contact the front office if you would like offering envelopes ordered for you.

Legacy Giving

Approximately 55 percent of American adults do not have a will or other estate plan in place. Many of the blessings of our church have been provided by generous Christians who have gone before us. Now it is our turn! First United Methodist Church of Albany has established a Legacy Giving Ministry. The Legacy Giving Ministry encourages you to make a legacy gift that will advance the ministries and missions of your Church for generations to come. Contact the Senior Pastor for more information about contributing to existing endowments or setting up your own personal endowment legacy.

There are many ways to support the future ministry of our church:

  • Bequests
  • Trusts
  • Life Insurance
  • Charitable Gift Annuities
  • Endowments
  • Planned Gifts
  • Asset Gifts
  • IRA Charitable Rollover
