Serve

We believe that serving others not only impacts those being served, but it continually shapes the server into the person God has called us to be. First Methodist Church offers many opportunities to serve. Connect with one of our staff members or ministers for more information.

Get involved in Missions! There are many opportunities to serve those in our community: Sunday Evening with Neighbors (SEWN), reading to kids at our Partner in Excellence schoool, Easter Egg Hunts, and so much more! Contact Laurel Griffith, Associate Minister, for more information.

Please join us on Sunday May 5th for a meeting in Ford Hall following the 10:30 AM worship service. During this time, we will provide a SEWN update and explain how you can help us sustain this significant ministry. We will celebrate all that God is doing and learn about opportunities for continued growth. Lunch will be provided.

Sunday Evening with our Neighbors has been a beautiful ministry of First Methodist Church for over eighteen years. Because of your commitment and the Lord’s blessing, there has been a continuity of care and service extended to those who live in the community around our church. Even during COVID our neighbors received a good meal each week. Those who come to dinner also enjoy the fellowship, devotional, and many consider First Methodist to be their church home. Through the years, we have forged partnerships with other churches in the area and together our teams of volunteers continue to serve our neighbors. Although many good things are happening in this ministry, we need additional support from our own congregation.
